Ladder Mover™ rotating

Ladder Mover™

patent pending

Will Ladder Mover work with my hand truck?

Most likely yes

Ladder Mover will work with any hand truck that has a solid, non-foldable toeplate measuring 1/4" thick maximum and 10” wide minimum not including the corner radius.

Toeplate dimensions

The hand truck you already have will most likely work, just make sure it meets the requirements above. If you don’t have a hand truck, check out the recommended ones below for best results.

How to Measure your hand truck toeplate thickness

Simply use a micrometer or caliper. If you don’t have a caliper or micrometer, just stack 2 Pennies, 1 Nickel, and 1 Quarter on top of each other for a thickness of 1/4" (.250"). Compare the thickness of the toeplate with your coin stack thickness.

Example of 1/4" thickness using coins, 2 Pennies, 1 Nickel, and 1 Quarter.

Why this hand truck?

It’s lightweight, works well with our Ladder Mover and is good value. The large air-filled tires cushion the load over rough terrain, creating a smooth and quiet ride. If your work area has roofing nails, metal shavings or anything that could puncture a pneumatic tire, you may want to use a hand truck with flat-free tires even though they might produce a rougher ride. The P-handle supports the hand truck at an excellent angle when loading a ladder. The long toeplate raises the ladder high enough for a tall person to use it comfortably. The toeplate rear lip provides a storage position for our Ladder Mover. It’s a great general purpose hand truck for all your other moving tasks when not using it to move ladders. The P-handle is safer than handle bars with rubber grips that can slip off during use, causing you to drop your load. This also happens to be one of the least expensive hand trucks on the market.

Tip: Be sure to only use a hand pump when filling the tires. Using a high-pressure air compressor could quickly over fill the tire to bursting point before you can stop it.
